Your work moves fast, so weโ€™re releasing several features to help you keep pace. This release brings updates built around the moments that matter most in your day: closing cases cleanly, documenting faster, and staying connected to what's happening across your caseload. Less clicking, less reconciling, more time for the clients who need you.

Hereโ€™s whatโ€™s new:

๐Ÿ”„ Your record closures just got smarter

Casebook keeps your records accurate and consistent when closing a case or intake so caseworkers can stay organized throughout their workflow with less effort.

With this update, you can:

  • Close a record and let Casebook handle the rest: When you close a Case or Intake, connected records, including involvements, tasks, workflows, and service enrollments, are updated automatically. No more working through a manual checklist to make sure everything is accounted for.
  • Stay in control of what gets closed: Before the closure is finalized, you can deselect any sub-records you don't want included. And if you choose to skip a task or end a workflow as part of closing, you'll be prompted to add a comment, so the reason is always captured and easy to find later.
  • Share reports you can stand behind: With all connected records closing in sync, your data reflects the true state of your caseload, making it easier to report confidently to supervisors and funders without extra reconciliation.

๐Ÿ”— In BETA: Relationships just got more flexible

Every client's story is unique, and the relationships in their life are a big part of that story. Casebook now gives your organization the freedom to define and document those connections in a way that truly reflects the people you serve.

With this update, you can:

  • Define relationships that reflect your reality: Administrators can now create, manage, and customize relationship types that fit your organization's unique programs and populations, so your team is never forced to choose the closest option when it is not quite right.
  • Use language that fits your work: Relationship categories have been updated to use neutral, accurate language that reflects the full spectrum of connections your clients have, whether they are supportive, professional, or complex.
  • Keep your data clean and consistent: Custom relationship types flow automatically across the entire platform, so your team is always working from the same definitions, reducing inconsistent data entry and giving you a clearer picture of every client's network.

๐Ÿ“” In BETA:  New Notes Authoring Experience

Weโ€™re continuing to improve the Notes experience in beta, with updates focused on making note entry faster, more organized, and easier to manage. These enhancements are designed to better support how caseworkers document and maintain critical information throughout their workflow.

With this update, you can:

  • Stay organized while capturing notes: The updated note dialog introduces a more structured layout, helping you clearly capture note details and understand who is involved, without unnecessary complexity.

  • Add and manage attachments more seamlessly: A dedicated Attachments section makes it easier to upload, view, and manage files directly within a note, keeping all supporting information in one place.
  • Rely on faster, more consistent auto-save: Improvements to auto-save help ensure your work is saved more quickly and reliably, reducing the risk of losing information while documenting.
  • Note access controls: You can now restrict who can view or edit all notes (including service notes) by adding specific users and assigning permissions like View Only or View, Edit, and Delete, while authors and supervisors retain full access by default.
